Stars & the Grand Ole Opry

This morning you can choose between two great venues - The National Museum of African American Music or the Johnny Cash & Patsy Cline Museums. Located only a short distance apart, these two venues offer a lot for visitors.

The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) in Nashville is a comprehensive cultural institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich legacy of African American music. Opened in 2021, the museum explores various genres, including gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, highlighting the contributions of African American artists to the nation's musical heritage. The NMAAM features interactive exhibits, artifacts, and multimedia displays, allowing visitors to engage with the history and evolution of African American music. Notable sections include "Rivers of Rhythm," a timeline of musical history, and "A Love Supreme," dedicated to the influence of jazz. Through its diverse exhibits and educational programs, the museum provides a dynamic and immersive experience, honoring the profound impact of African American musicians on global culture.

The Johnny Cash Museum and the Patsy Cline Museum offer dedicated spaces to celebrate the legacies of these iconic country music stars. The Johnny Cash Museum, established in 2013, showcases a vast collection of memorabilia, including handwritten lyrics, costumes, instruments, and personal artifacts, detailing Cash's storied career and personal life. Meanwhile, the Patsy Cline Museum, opened in 2017, is situated just above the Johnny Cash Museum and features personal letters, stage costumes, and rare photographs, providing a deep dive into Cline's life and enduring influence on country music. Both museums offer interactive exhibits and rare artifacts, giving fans a comprehensive and intimate look at the lives and careers of these legendary artists.

After Lunch, you will be off to the Grand Ole Opry. Now at a newer location. It is an iconic institution in the world of country music, renowned for its pivotal role in popularizing the genre since its inception in 1925. Known as "the show that made country music famous," the Opry began as a simple radio broadcast and has since evolved into a live stage show featuring a diverse array of country, bluegrass, Americana, and folk music performances. The Opry has hosted legendary artists such as Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and contemporary stars like Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. The venue is celebrated for its rich history, vibrant performances, and its ongoing tradition of connecting fans with the essence of country music through weekly live broadcasts and performances that continue to draw audiences from around the world.

Your evening concludes with a visit at the Grand Ole Opry for a live performance. Enjoy live music by popular entertainers as they play some of the old classics.
